Manchester-based toolbox manufacturer, Tuffboxes (tuffboxes.co.uk), stands at the forefront of the battle against escalating tool theft rates, receiving the esteemed Best Secure Toolbox Award from BUILD magazine in the 2023 Construction and Engineering Awards.

As well as large metal site chests, Tuffboxes specialises in van toolboxes to help combat the rise in thefts from trade vehicles across the UK.
Direct Line reported tools were stolen every 15mins in 2022 across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Which saw a 10% rise in theft from vehicles against the previous period, meaning half of all tool thefts are now from a car, van or wagon.
With the average value of the thefts in 2023 at £3,425, according to Direct Line’s survey, protecting the sector’s livelihood, and mental health, is always at the forefront of the team behind Tuffboxes.
